Irish Dreams

Irish Dreams

A Poem by Jeremy Cooney
"

A song I wrote a while ago about meditation bringing out more want than it released.

"

You ever know how good it feels

To breathe in deep?

And release yourself and fly away

To that place by the sea side?

I feel the waves crash up against

The rocks down below

I feel you near me, I think I do

I'll never know for sure

CHORUS

And if I open my eyes

Will it be too much for me to take?

Are my eyes really closed?

Are you there? Is this all a fake reality?

I can't seem to get a grip

And I'm falling, but that's okay

I hear your voice, sense your body

Know your face, now baby.

Running away from the everyday must

Of "he-said-she-said"

My mind is thousands of miles away

While I lay in bed

You asked me once to show you how

To do the things that I can do

I wonder if you taught yourself

As I believe I lay next to you

CHORUS

As we fly away

We whisper our goodbyes

Returning to my reality

I cannot help but sigh

The room seems darker

The guitar sharper

I can hardly breathe

I can feel the sin

Can't taste the wind

Or smell the breeze

Still I know tomorrow night

Same thing's in store

Softly shed a tear, grab myself a beer

As the rain begins to pour

CHORUS

Come on back now, my bonnie lass

To our Irish dream

Come on back now, darling

Do our Irish dream

I can't go to sleep, no, no

Till I've had my Irish dream

So come on back, my sweetheart

To our Irish dream

Oh....

Very nice! I don't know much about Irish Dreams, but your form of meditation has a nice flow!
