Faerie Tale SilhouetteA Poem by Jeremy CooneyI wanted to write a semi-dark, faerie tale lullaby. So, here it is.Walking alone by the moonlight Glide down the silvery sand The sky moving fast To the beat of tomorrow A slipper in his steady white hand
Runs like a wolf in the moonlight The sound of silence is wise He looks for the lady Who danced in his reign And took him with lily white eyes
Skin soft by the moonlight She sits in the forest alone She sobs, without tears, Of a sickly surrender Sitting on her named stone
Stars sing a song in the moonlight He opens the gates to the yard He kneels down beside her She looks at his favor Her smile seems distant and hard
Haste! For it's almost the midnight The slipper burning like sun Just for tonight She is his Cinderella The living and dead become one
Stories of beanstalks and witches Gingerbread houses and men Capes and cauldrons Demons and angels Will all be here once again
Tomorrow, tomorrow When you wake from your dreams Tomorrow, tomorrow When you wake from your dreams, love Tomorrow, tomorrow When you wake from your dreams Tomorrow, tomorrow When you wake from your dreams , love © 2008 Jeremy Cooney |
