Stronger

Stronger

A Poem by Jeremy Cooney
"

Exactly as the title describes. A self-assuring song to myself that the world doesn't have to revolve around love and obsession.

"

Waking up to the sound of horns

Stretching out like a newborn

I go wash my dreams away

Go and hope in my car

I ain't got very far to go

But I know I'll be there all day

Seventy-five down the I-10

Playing dad's songs again and again

I die three times on way

CHORUS

I can't seem to close my eyes

I'm starting to realize

That I'm better without you

Babe, it's true

Got my world turning now

Without you.

Clocked for eight, I'm there nine

Praying; God, show me a sign

And I'm back in bed to lay

In with the poison, out with the song

Sing about how it's been too long

Since I even mentioned your name

Trying my best just to get through

Forbidden secrets I told you

When they ask I just seem to say

CHORUS x2

Got my world turning now

Got my world turning now

Without you

Without you

Without you

Without...
