This Is the Way (the World Ends)

This Is the Way (the World Ends)

A Poem by Jeremy Cooney
"

A wonderful duet written by myself and my darling sister C.S.E. Cooney

"

This is the way the world ends

This is the way the world ends

This is the way the world ends

Whimpering

Nothing's right, but nothings wrong

Dragons only live in song

Steady now, just let it come

Limping on

First the pure, then the brave

Some we slaughter, but some we save

Glory and a great crusade

Here and gone

This is the way the world ends

This is the way the world ends

This is the way the world ends

Whimpering

BRIDGE

Choose us for our lonliness

And promise us a quest

Shelter those who worship you

And abandon all the rest

Beckon and we'll sway with you

Whichever way you lean

Our shepherdess, goddess

And our...guillotine.

Nothings truth, but nothings lie

Bid us burn, and deed us die

No one even wonders why

Deaf and dumb, deaf and dumb

Just limping on

Here and gone

Just carry on

This is the way the world ends.

this is definately a song! there is a tempo in this, just from reading it. i'd be intrigued to hear the melody for this, just to see what kind of life it is given.
