Deep Blue Skies

Deep Blue Skies

A Poem by Jeremy Cooney
"

I wrote this last year, between the bridge of spring and summer.

"

The rain comes pouring down

And suddenly I'm not so lonely

The rain upon my brow

Cools the ache inside my head

'Cause when the sun is out

All I see in it is you

But when the wind kicks up

The clouds roll in, I get lost

In those deep-blue skies.

Should I reach up

And touch your inviting, searing rays

Or will you let me be

So I can play within the waves?

I'm so parched, yet so cold

So blue, yet so red

But maybe if I touch you

Yes, maybe if I touch you

You will hear the things I've said

CHORUS

This is my Within You

As the Labyrinth's falling fast

My Sorry, by Ray Benson

And the Tosca String Quartet

My Moonlight Sonata, Made In the Shade

And my All for You

I'm wandering in the desert

Looking for those deep-blue skies.

Maybe he will never see you

For the energy that you are

But you say that you are made for eachother

Am I your unlucky star?

I can't see the future

Just the present can I tell

If it were up to me

Yeah, if it were up to me

I'd have you to myself

CHORUS

BRIDGE

CHORUS

This is my On My Own

As I climb the barricade!

I hum Amazing Grace

Though the colors seem to fade

I'm happy when it rains

I drown the Sun and let it be

So rain keep pouring down

Rain keep pouring down

Rain keep pouring down

Wash my soul and set me free.

Rain keep pouring down

On me!
