Bedtime Fortitue

A Poem by Jeremy Cooney
"

Inspired by a dream I had.

"

Now we lay here in silence

Staring off into the sky

No words, all in silence

No promises or lies

You smell like angels

In the springtime

On your skin the evening dew

Your breath like fire

Against the breeze

Our passion born anew

CHORUS

Rest now in my arms

Rest now in my arms

Rest now in my arms

Forevermore...

The damp grass is warmer now

Aflame with our passionate glow

The empty sky is crowded now

And all time is slowed

My fingers begin to trace

The braided knots of your hair

In which you placed my name

So I'll always be near

CHORUS

BRIDGE

::Overlapping::

(Rest now in my arms)    {Forevermore, forevermore}     I don't ever want to leave

(Rest now in my arms)    {Forevermore, forevermore}     Because you make me believe

(Rest now in my arms)    {Forevermore, forevermore}     That it's not just a dream

(Rest now in my arms)    {Forevermore, forevermore}     Oh it's not just a dream

(Rest now in my arms)    {Forevermore, forevermore}     Please tell me it's not just a dream.

(Rest now in my arms)    {Forevermore, forevermore}     Oh, forevermore.
