If I told you this story

If I told you this story

A Poem by cemily

I was left everywhere I had ever been,
Never knowing if you'd come back,
But I doubt you remember.
I left you for hours,
Out in the cold just waiting for you to notice,
But you never noticed.
When I returned,
You pushed me away,
But I doubt you remember.
I was lost for an eternity.
Terribly afraid, completely alone.
But if I told you this story I doubt you'd remember.
I was in a dark hole,
Drowning in misery,
Alone.
But I doubt you noticed.
I wanted to die,
But I doubt you ever noticed.
I was alone.
And forever would be.
And if I told you the story of this girl,
You wouldn't recognize her.
If I told you this story,
Of a girl waiting for someone to care,
You wouldn't remember your own part.
