If..

If..

A Poem by cemily

If my hands could speak,

They would tell of all the times they were clenched to lessen the pain.

They would tell of how often they were forced to wipe away tears.

They would tell that they didn't know how to end the cycle.

If my feet could speak,

They would tell of all the roads I crossed to get here.

They would tell of the pain as I crossed over and stepped on every stone and thorn in the way.

They would tell that they didn't know where they were going.

If my eyes could speak,

They would tell of all tears that were almost cried

And of the countless tears that were.

They would tell of all the pain that they have seen

And of the fear of seeing more.

They would tell that they did not yet see what the future holds.

If my heart could speak,

It would tell of every time it was broken.

It would tell of each piece being stolen.

It would tell that it wishes it were whole again.

But if I could speak,

And be heard,

I would tell the world that I still believe.

I would tell the world of the goodness, the kindness, the hope still present in it.

I'm speechless. This is an amazing piece of not only writing, but poetry. Everything you have written is relatable to everybody in the world, whether they deny it or not. The ending almost brought a tear to my eyes because there is still goodness in the world, there's still kindness. Also, to quote my favourite movie of all time: "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."

Keep up the great writing.
