Eternal Memory

Eternal Memory

A Poem by cemily

The eternal night drones on.

Every morning,

Every dream.

Every time it rains,

It stops.

Every time there is pain,

It ends.

After every dark night,

There is light.

That will never remain.

Before every bright morning,

There is mourning.

There will always be good and bad.

That will always remain.

So you might as well forget,

So you can smile again.

But this night is never-ending.

It will always remain.

This night is ever present.

It is nothing but a memory.

This is inspired by a quote from Iain S. Thomas: "Every time it rains it stops raining...you get reminded of this every morning but you still choose to believe that the night will last forever. Nothing lasts forever."

I think this poem brings a lot of hope but also a warning. Ni matter how bad things get, the bad can't last forever. Cherish the good times because they can't last forever either. It brings home the fragility of life
