Unperfect

Unperfect

A Poem by Joyce Marie

I am loved
but somehow I forgot
and settled for less
became somebody I'm not

I am inspired
by the simple gesture of a friend
and I am ever changing
like the direction of the winds

There is a fast pace to my contemplating
hidden by a slow southern drawl
I love with all my heart
but I'm the last to hear love's call

I am loud and quite silly
but there's a quiet side to me
A little redneck but always a lady
molding into the woman I wanna be

I am a poetic dreamer
but I am waking up these days
Life is what I make it
and I cant always have my way

I am the convenient friend
that never gets her turn to dance
that forgives in life so easy
but never gets a second chance

I am a heart full of secret wishes
There is a dream I hope to find
I am the one that goes unnoticed
until one day I finally shine

I am the innocent and naive
believing in people and such
I am the one who will always love you
even when it hurts too much

I am the whisper in a summer wind
A string of pearls and vintage lace
When it comes to charming a prince
I find I haven't that grace

I am a laughter in your heart
a trusting friend who always believes
I am extraordinary at best
I am unperfectly me
