Midsummer's Dream

Midsummer's Dream

A Poem by Joyce Marie
"

Wrote this back in highschool for an assignment on shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream

"

Stardust falls on my silken lash

as I fall into a midsummer's dream

I see your gypsy caravan

and yet nothing is as it seems

She loves him and he loves me

and I am in love with a baffoon

Love has the power to make us whole

or can be a mortal man's doom

I see your gypsy caravan

and the stardust in your eye

It's not me you see my love

It's a dream, it's just a lie

And when the morning comes

This dream will turn to sand

Nothing more than an illusion

That you hold in the palm of your hand.

Tomorrow you'll still love her

and her in love with him

He'll adore me forever more

and my life without you shall be grim

yes, she loves him and he loves me

and I am in love with a baffoon

Love has the power to make us whole

or can be a mortal man's doom
