Nameless Face

Nameless Face

A Poem by Joyce Marie

It was you who stole my heart

You took my very breath

I knew better than to love you

and now there's nothing left

I'm clinging to the void within

and nothing can fill this space

but I'm just a page in your history

another nameless face

It was you who chose to charm me

and I believed your words and such

but I knew you could not stay

and now I'm haunted by your touch

It was the feeling of your arms

and the warmth beneath my skin

and the way you showed me love

That's why I let you in

And now you'll never really know me

I was just a page in your history

and I'll go on believing I was nothing

I'll never solve this mystery

but you will always be the one

who opened up my heart

and just when I thought I'd never feel again

I'm suddenly falling apart

I never meant to get attatched

and now I'm clinging to this empty space

I wish I was more than a memory

but I'm just a nameless face.

I wonder who this is for, if it is for anyone. It has a powerful feeling. It could apply to the way many feel nad not just about love but about life in general. It flows well and makes you think and feel. There is also an emptiness to this, like you'll never feel again. Wonderful.
