What I Want

What I Want

A Poem by Joyce Marie

To hell with diamonds
and superficial pretty words
Forget roses for they fade
and this voice it goes unheard

Forget silly little games
and kisses that reprimand
show me one man who knows his own heart
and he'll make diamonds turn to sand

Give me laughter and everafter
All the things that cannot be
Give me someone who gives a damn
Somebody just like me

I don't want an illusion
I want someone who truly feels
Forget prince charming and fairytales
I want something that is real

I want someone who understands me
Someone who's not caught up in himself
I want someone who is brave enough
To love me for myself

I want a simple love so priceless
not another debt left to be paid
I dont want someone to come and own me
but love to hold me in all it's tender ways
