Waking The Fallen

Waking The Fallen

A Poem by Joyce Marie

Your lips are like poison
There is venom in your kiss
and your eyes tell a story
A life that no longer exists

Your soul is not at home
and your heart is pitch black
you are the prince of corruption and lies
You speak of all that I lack

You speak of death and hate
All the things that I am not
You once were an angel
I guess you just forgot

The night is your salvation
and darkness is your key
You bring only destruction
Unforgiven you'll never be free

And as the blood tears fall from your ashen cheek
You embrace the darkness of your rebirth
You clipped your wings so selfishly
as you fell back down to earth

And your soul it disapated into a river of tears
That formed pools of sadness at my feet
This lifeline was severed that held through the years
Memories locked in a silent frozen sleep

And you speak of your life as a distant memory
A story forgotten in the past
Though your eyes are glazed over tears spill from your cheek
Even darkness never lasts

Through the oceans of sadness and barriers of time
I can still hear a distant voice calling
Though I want to run away and save myself today
I find myself waking the fallen
