The mad Tea Party

The mad Tea Party

A Poem by Joyce Marie
"

I wrote this in 2003 when my life came crashing down

"

In my imaginary forest
within a lonely dream
I lie inside myself
In my enchanted sleep

Paralyzed is my sanity
falling apart at the seams
Welcome to my wonderland
and all that madness brings

Follow the white rabbit
into a hollow frozen tree
I'm hidden in the shadows
with the Hatter drinking tea.

The queen of hearts is broken
and she no longer shouts
she only says I'm sorry child
but there is no way out

I'm lost in this illusion
I feel I'm here to stay
If I could find the half that's missing
I know I'd find my way

I'm searching in the hallway
A thousand doors behind
Searching for a moment
A moment trapped by time

Driven by this madness
I'm searching to get in
To a time of what was
and what mightve been

I seem to be falling further
into this black abyss
Remembering the waking world
and all that I shall miss
I guess I shall never be at peace
and I'll never see the sun
Lost in this delerium
and all that I've become
