Trixie

Trixie

A Story by Celestia

Sitting on the edge of the skyscraper, I feel the wind beneath my feet, and I smile.
I pull myself to my feet and prepare to jump.
"Trixie, wait."
My blue eyes flicker back to the girl standing behind me.
Air smiles, her scars flashing in the light from the city.

La la la la la la la la la la la

I unfold my wings. "Air. I know what happened to your sister is scary, but this is what the life of the Guardians is about."
Air flinches. "What happened to her is Melanie's fault."
I shake my head. "I thought you thought that."
Turning back to the edge, I jump.

La la la la la la la la la la la

My wings catch the air I and float upwards, wings beating, light shining through them.
Air jumps off behind me, her puffy wings sparkling in the morning light.
They expand to wings the size of mine, a decent wingspan, 12 feet long, or maybe 14.
Her gold eyes glint, and I can tell what she's thinking.
We have to get to the forest before the sun rises.
Before Melanie destroys the last chance we have.

I will never be afraid again

There is a noise from behind us. Glaumoura has heaved herself up the ladder, flopping on the roof.
"GLAU!" shrieks Air.
Her sister opens one brown eye.
"Airglows..." she whispers. He pale skin reflects the dawn like a mirror, and her form flickers in and out of shape. He wings hang uselessly, limp at her side.

I will keep on fighting till the end
