Spindle in My Heart

Spindle in My Heart

A Poem by L. N. Cepeleva

A Spindle in my Heart

Remember you said;

You’ll always be there

Together again.

In the journey my friend

You promised me

Treasure unknown

With feathers afloat

You have promised me all.

O’ you kind sir,

How hast thou lied

No flowers I see

Now treasures abode

No feathers for me.

How have you broken my heart

With spindles and stones

You have forsaken my soul

O’ you charming lad

How hast the time flown

You have promised me

Treasures and feathers

Aboard.

Forever my king

Forever my lord.

How have you broken my heart,

A spindle spins inside

Crushing my soul

Wrapping me, in my own shame.

O’ where are you now?

Chasing new skirts?

You have laid again

With a maiden bold.

Forgotten me,

As if I am not there.

O’ Remember me,

The promise you said

To be my knight

But once again you lied.

And the spindle doth turns

Plucking my already bleeding heart.

How have you broken my heart,

A spindle spins inside

Crushing my soul

Wrapping me, in my own shame.

As the broken spindle twists -

You crushed my soul

With your promise fortold

I curse -

I curse -

No true evil on you

Just keep your treasures and feathers

And die in them

Surrounded by flowers.

As you did to me.

How have you broken my heart,

A spindle spins inside

Crushing my soul

Wrapping me, in my own shame.

Remember you said;

We will be together again.
