Where am I

Where am I

A Poem by celecis

Reconsidering who I am

Where I am, where I should be

Is this all, is this real

Is this life or is it a dream?

A pre-test, an illusion

I wonder what's beyond the fog, beyond pollution

Losing interest for the mundane

Don't care about money, don't care about fame.

My mind rambles about life

The memories I'll have when I die

I feel so dead in this place

People stuck inside, nothing to chase.

A lifelong of hated work

No time to ride a river, feel my luck,

To rip the grass, lay in dirt,

Run in the snow, go berserk.

I'm trapped in a world I don't fit in

Materialistic values are all I've seen.

I can only hope for something more

When the true gate opens

And eternal life takes over my core.

I like this. I feel the same way. You are questioning the meaning of life and wondering if this is all there is. You're considering the physical vs spiritual worlds. My favorite writer Henry David Thoreau wrote, "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see... Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined.” You are a wise person and describe it very well. Nice job.

Beautiful poetry-cum-rap. Excellent. Loved the line: "materialistic thongs all i've seen." How true. Very pleasantly u just waved 'pon the threads of words. Real feelings of ur world 'bout world are swiftly filtered deep down in ur poetry.

Looking forward to reading your work!

As you so eloquently said, materialistic values are held in such high regard for most that it seems odd that there are some who still strive to find true beauty and inner peace without it having a price tag. To be and do what our heart wants and not be tied to the rat race of life is what we should all strive for. The happier you can be in this life without a plot, the better.
Beautifully written.
