Memories

"Mom take me to the park please!" my little 6 year old self yelled while running down the stairs.

"Jordan not today." she answers while I walk into the kitchen. Oliver, my older brother, is searching the fridge looking for who knows what.

"Mom please," I whine, "I'm done with the inside. Lets go outside, to the park. Oliver help me! You wanna go too, right?"

He stops his searching to look at me then mom, "Why not mom? You know Jordan is only going to continue her whining." Mom sighed then looked from Olly to me.

She sighed once again, "Alright Jordy, go get ready. You too Oliver." I jumped down from the stool I was on and raced upstairs to get my mini purse and shoes.

"Jordy hurry before mom changes her mind!" Oliver yelled from down stairs. I grabbed my mini purse before running down stairs.

When we got to the park, me and Oliver raced for the swings. Just before reaching them I ran straight into someone and flew back landing on my butt.

"Jordy are you okay?" Oliver asks while running towards me.

"Yeah I'm fine." I tell him getting up. I wonder what I hit? I look over and see a boy, about my age, getting up and rubbing his elbow.

"Hey girl sorry. I didn't see you. I was playing tag with my friend." He says pointing to a kid behind him, again about my age, who was trying not to laugh. "Jerex its not funny. I could've hurt her." Jerex continued to laugh. Then the boy looks at me, "Hi I'm Kellan, you can call me Kel if you want. The kid laughing behind me is Jerex, my best friend. Who are you guys?" He asks, looking from me to Oliver.

"I'm Oliver and this is my little sister Jordan."

Kellan smiles at me, "How old are you?"

I smile back, "I'm 6 and Olly is 7, you?"

"We're both 6." says Jerex after catching his breath and walking to stand next to Kellan. "Wanna play tag with us?"

"Sure. Tag you're it!" Yells Oliver before tagging Kellan.

We all run in opposite directions to get away from him. "Hey I wasn't ready!" he yells before chasing us.

I run straight for the slide to hide. While stopping in the middle of the slide, I start to hear laughing close by so I bring my knees to my chin.

"Oh here you are." I jump and see Kellan looking in the slide. "I was looking for you but tagged Jerex instead." he says while sliding in next to me.

"So are you 'it'?" I ask. He shakes his head. We stay quite for a few minutes. In those few minutes we heard laughing and our names being called by Jerex. I look over at Kellan and see a small smile forming on his lips. "Kellan?"

When he looks at me, the small smile vanishes, "Yeah?"

"Do you wanna b-be my other best friend?" I ask shyly.

The smile that was once on his face grew as he answered me, "Sure." He slides closer to me and puts his arm around on my shoulders, "but who is your other best friend?" The look on his face defined worry.

I smile at him, "My brother Olly of course."

Kellan smiles again, gives me a side hug then yells, "I made a new friend yay!" Out of nowhere, Jerex slides down bumping into both of us and tags Kellan. "Jerex that's not fair. I was already it."

"Well that's what you get for hiding." he answers Kellan before sticking out his tongue and climbing back up the slide.

"Jordan, Oliver! Its time to go!" I hear mom yell.

"Sorry guys we have to go now." I tell them as I slide down the rest of the slide.

"Awe, well are you gonna come back tomorrow?" I look at Jerex and he has a frown plastered to the bottom of his face. Kellan mirrors Jerex.

"I don't know, but I'll ask." I give them both a bight, pearly white smile before grabbing my mini purse and walking towards mom and Olly.

"Goodbye Jordan! See you tomorrow!"

"Goodbye Kellan!" I wave back before grabbing moms hand.

"Honey who is that?"

"That's Kellan, my new best friend and he wants me to come back tomorrow."

"Okay we can plan that." She smiles down at me. I smile back, the biggest I can master before side hugging her.

I woke up to my alarm, "Why are my dreams always my childhood?" I ask myself shutting off the alarm. I look around my room while I scratch the back of my head. Attractive? I know. Then realization hits me. "Great. I have school today." I get up, fix my bed then walk into my bathroom.

I stop in front of the mirror to examine my appearance. My reflection shows a very tired girl with terrible bedhead, pale cheeks and bags under her eyes. "Well you look adorable this morning Jordy." I say to the reflection while trying to flatten the bedhead, "This hair is gonna be a challenge. Awww. I'm just gonna take a shower." I strip myself of my clothes and get into the shower. While I let the warm water drown me in comforting warmth I start to remember my childhood with Kellan.

Man I miss that kid.

Ever since that day, me and Kellan have been as close as peanut butter and jelly. Going to the park everyday to play on the swings. We would chat, play games and sometimes be really lazy and just lay on the grass. The year we both turned 10 changed everything. I lost my best friend because his dad got a better job. I've never missed someone so much. When he moved Jerex and I became close, but our friendship was never as close as mine and Kellans. Its been 7 years and I still miss him as if yesterday was the day he left. "I wish he would come back." I say to myself while shutting off the water.

"Jordy hurry up! I have to get to school early so I can decorate Julies locker for her birthday!" That's right Julies birthday is today. She's finally turning 18. If you're wondering, Julie is Olivers girlfriend. They've been dating for a year now and they're still lovey-dovey. Like they just started dating. Julie is also a friend of mine but we're not close. She was new and looked very lonely. I felt like she needed a friend.

"Alright Olly give me about 20 minutes!" I yell back as I walk to my closet. I got dressed in my normal jeans, T-shirt and converse. I'm not one who likes to 'Dress to Impress' unless its needed. Besides its Monday, everyone is usually still tired. So today is my lazy day. I dry my hair and apply mascara after getting dressed. See not much.

"Jordy hurry your a*s up!!"

"Alright alright I'm coming. Calm your tits bro." I say running downstairs.

"Excuse me? Watch your language you two." Mom yelled from the kitchen.

I smirked at Olly. "C'mon lets go Mr. love bird." He just glared at me as I walked past to go to the garage. When I sat in the passenger seat of the car I chuckled.

"Jordan whats so funny?" Oliver asked as he reversed the car out of the garage.

I smile and shake my head, "Nothing just memories." He gives me his look. Where he just lifts one eyebrow and I start to laugh again. "Do you give Julie that look too?"

Oliver glances at me before looking at the road again, "No because she gives 'Mr.Love bird' the finger."

I couldn't help but burst into laughter again, "Really?" He nods and I continue to laugh the rest of the way to school.

Oliver parks in his usual spot under a tree. Which is right in front of where 'our' gang usually hangs out. Getting out of the car I spot everyone sitting on or near 'our' bench. Instead of joining us, Oliver runs to the building probably to decorate Julie's locker.

"Sup guys." I say as I sit in between Jerex and Alex, the two I'm closest to more than the rest. You know Jerex, so no need to explain him again.

Alex was my first girl friend after Kellan moved. She was there for me and I for her when she needed me. Alex isn't dating anyone because she like Jerex and Jerex.. well he is just air-headed and crushing on someone and he wont tell who. Not even me.

Next to Alex is a very lovey-dovey couple that seriously needs to get a room sometimes. That couple of very touchie feelie is Derek and Alila. They're adorable together but sometimes they go to far.

Next to them, are the nerds of our gang, Liv and Brent. Also very adorable and helpful with homework. What? I'm terrible at algebra don't judge me.

The couple next to Jerex is Leo and Ava, cute, but also very touchie, sometimes more than Derek and Alila and... well they have a love/hate relationship. Lots and lots of fighting. They could be in a fight one minute, the next, they're practically dry humping each other.

Brandon is another single one in our group, and well he's gay. Hilarious child but its sad seeing such an amazing guy like him single. If he was straight or I was a guy and gay, we'd definitely be dating. I know I'm weird, you witnessed this earlier.

Then there is usually Oliver and Julie, the oldest in our group other than Brandon. Apparently they're the 'It' couple here at this school which doesn't surprise me. They're adorable as hell.

"Well look here Beth, its the worthless." says Lydia, the schools head b***h also cheer leading captain. Beth is her b***h and co-captain of the cheer leading squad. Oh I forgot to mention, Lydia has this thing with me and my group, but mostly making my life hell. She's the so called s**t of the school and I don't see that as something that's hard to believe. She's with a new guy every week. "So Jordan did you hear?"

"Hear what Lydia?"

"There's a new kid here today." she places a hand on her hip. Beth snickers.

I look between the two, "And why does that interest me?" I ask.

"It will when you find out who he is." She blows a bubble from her gum, it pops then she walks away with Beth on her heels.

"What the f**k was that Jordan?" Brandon asks. I glance at him then look at Lydia as she flirts with the football quarterback, Caleb.

"I have no idea Brandon."

I walk into chemistry with Jerex, Liv and Derek. Me and Jerex always sit in the back while Liv sits in the front and Derek sits next to some of the football players. Class was about over when our councilor came in with a student. I'm guessing the new student.

He's a tall blonde with kinda short shaggy hair. Wearing a leather jacket, a blank white t-shirt, black jeans, black converse and for some unknown reason, he's wearing sunglasses inside. What did the councilor not notice his shades or something? The councilor finishes talking to our chem teacher then walks out after patting new kids shoulder.

"Everyone we have a new student please welcome him. Alright kid introduce yourself." Says our chem teach as he sits in his desk.

The new kid takes his shades off and almost instantly my jaw drops to the floor. "Sup everyone I'm Kellan. Um not one to brag but I have a motorcycle and I dig chicks." He winks to a few girls and smiles. We make eye contact and his smile vanishes.

"Jordan did he really say..?"

"Yeah Jerex he did. Its Kellan.... he's back." I look at Jerex and we both have the same expression. A mixture of shook and excitement.

"Wow." I hear Jerex say.

"I can't believe he's back." I whisper to myself.
