Sweetness runs away

Sweetness runs away

A Poem by Cece

Much can be said about lunch
To sit around talking a storm

Much to be said about rice and sabaw

Too excitement for me
Already to die of boredom

For this of pool tables and halo-halo making

Watching little girls eating halo-halo

Barely missing their mouths with

Halo-halo drops running from the mouth

Wetting the chin of melted ice

Setting is a compound of empty tables

And of dormant tricycle vacant

The seat tells a story of business trips made

And pesos it made with such trips

Stories it can tell of butts that sit upon the seat

Little girls still talk but of the halo-halo that did spill

Now never to finish the dessert of ice and treats

For it lay melting on the concrete

With its purple and red sweetness running away
