Song of the Sorrow Bird

Song of the Sorrow Bird

A Story by CDseader

You open on a little bird and it's mother.
Laying with her young. Then as she stares into it eyes, she begins to get up. She turns around, with a small tear drop.... fly's away. The little bird wakes to a empty nest. Sadly it cries not understanding why. Letting out a weak and yet sad whimper. Wondering where had my mother gone. 7 days lead on but no mother bird. It gets up looks at the ground. Thinking she never wanted me. As the little bird stares at the ground for a few sorrow filled minutes.......... It leaps off of the edge of the nest. Not knowing how to fly never taut. As it closes its eyes, flash backs of the past. It cries and cries then opens it eyes for one last moment to see the world. Hits the ground. Laying there with a single twitch or even the slightest move. It takes the last and final breath.
The mother bird returns, only to see her only child. Gone looking everywhere it could not be found. As she looks at the edge of the nest. Seeing the lifeless bird on the cold ground. Flies down to it in a hurry. Gently picks up the little bird, pushes it to her chest and cries deeply. For she has lost the only thing she would ever care about. Thinking I shall never see my baby again. For she was gone to get and shot by a hunter. Found by another bird and taken care of. She wanted to come home but never did. This was her fault. The helplessness of the poor little bird, could never fend for it own.
She buries her only child in the ground. Hoping it would be in the perfect place. Never have to worry about anyone not being there for it again.
(The older mother bird)
As she grew older with pain and sorrow. She finally past, only to join her baby. So happy now as she can see, it has a family and they were waiting for here. The grandchildren come to her to say hello. Crying so hard now, not knowing what to say. She turns to once was her baby. Giving a hug and then turning away. "I have failed you. You must let me leave and go back. For I am sure you have no room in your heart for me." "Mother I will always love you. I hope you can forgive me, for leaving for so soon." You see them and the rest of the family walk away into a pure bight light.
