Unequivocal Pain

Unequivocal Pain

A Poem by Carole

Layers and Layers
of Pain
Unequivocal Pain
Run from it
Pretend it's not there
Mask it
Deny it
Numb it
With Alcohol
Drugs
Cigarettes
and
Food
It Won't Go Away
It's Here to Stay

Admit it
Face it
Come to terms with it
Deal with it
Don't run
Don't Bury it
Accept it
Forgive
And
Live
Again
Today
I Can
You Can
We All Can

Very to the point! And what we all need to hear. Don't run, deal. Very good - and then we shall overcome! :)

carol, your words cut straight to the core, i have to emphasize your skill for writing,
and your ability to draw upon the readers thoughts with the pen of creativity,
as the meaning holds a general insight that i amn sure most people can relate to
in one way or another, I find your words to be uplifting, imaginative anf from the
soul of your imagination, vivid, clear, choice detailing, loved it, mike

Beautifully done Carole and something so many forget to forgive as God for gives us so should we forgive others. This form works great with your words to create a beat and flow to is wonderful.

Ahh....if it were only that simple. This poem makes me WANT to let go of certain wounds that I have, and I feel good that I have forgiven for these hurts, but I've gotta say, it's much harder to FORGET. It's a very big person who can do so, and for that, I love this poem!

When we live in denial of our fears, pains and issues, no amount of artificial stimulates, numbing agents or therapy will resolve them!

Facing up to our trails and tribulations head on, is the only way to deal with them, if we want positive results.

The punchy, prodding style of this piece, lends itself brilliantly to this message in a very effective and constructively manner.

Superb composition!

I love this Carole. .. so many truths..
Pain can be so hard to bare but masking it with other things.. not good.. so as you say here forgive and learn to live again.. very inspirational.

A pacy little portion of truth here. The presentation seems to add extra weight to the message. The first section dealing with the pain itself and the final part dealing head on with facing up to it! Easier said than done but certainly the right thing to strive for. Julian
