The Karma Smorgasbord

The Karma Smorgasbord

A Poem by Carole
"

It ALL comes out in the WASH...WE WILL REAP BOUNTIFULLY FROM WHAT WE SOW, be it good or bad. It's not something we like to think about, but it is the unadulterated TRUTH.

             The Karma Smorgasbord

Come one, come all, and join the feast

Prepare yourselves for a delectable treat

What you partake in is your predilection

Your smorgasbord is your selective discretion

What goes up must come down

What we dish out will come back around

It’s all up to us what we will eat

Will it be acidulated or will it be sweet?

I’ve lived long enough to have learned a few ropes

Been on sundry sides of the slope

If you dish out kindness, you procure the same

If you dish out ugliness, make way for the pain

Slander and careless inculpation’s carry a heavy weight

As we do what we wish & follow our fate

Determining this day to whom we will bow

Making a choice and emulating our crowd

A price will be paid for hostile malevolence

While a blessing accompanies those who choose to esteem & respect

A multifarious smorgasbord lavished as we wish

A rancid casserole or a titillating dish

Just taking a synopsis of those who freely accuse

Lofty lovers of gossip, slander, and abuse

The index finger barbed & pointed with pithy insistence undue

Quickly differentiating the guilty from the tried and true

Those that are innocent have nothing to hide

They relax in quietude and calmly abide

Filled with infinite harmony & copious peace

They recline at their spread of an elaborate feast

Of buoyant laughter, joy, and incredulous tranquility

Unruffled & undisturbed with exemplary placidity

Happy-go-lucky and free from guilt and shame

They don’t have to “Do Drama” and play the game

The school of hard knocks is taking applications

We can choose freely our part of the equation

So, let’s get our hammers and delineate palisades

Uncover the charlatan, the fraudulent & the fakes

We can speak what we will and do what we please

Then lift our hands toward heaven and get ready to receive

Our myriad of choices is as diverse as the sea

We each hold the answer-We each hold the key

Come one, come all, and join the feast

Prepare yourselves for a delectable treat

What you partake in is your predilection

Your smorgasbord is your selective discretion

What goes up must come down

What we dish out will come back around

It’s all up to us what we will eat

Will it be acidulated or will it be sweet?

This is a great piece of writing you have here Carole. I personally have a very strong belief on Karma because it's all is in my Dharma! :)
It is written in our religious books that any person's actions do affects hisher next reincarnation, So...I found this piece of writing very true and very much close to my heart as it touches my religious values!

"What goes up must come down
What we dish out will come back around
It's all up to us what we will eat
Will it be acidulated or will it be sweet?" - These four lines for me out stands the entire write, So deep!!

This is really a very powerful piece of writing, your words are so wise and the flow is really awesome too..!
(Also, the formatting and choice of words is brilliant)

Great work Carole! :)

I live my life by this..

and when I slip up,
it comes back and
kicks my a---

everytime. without fail.
sometimes now..
sometimes later.

What you give,
Is what you get.
It's flawless and
there are no exceptions.

BRAVO!
This is brilliantly worded
and formatted,
and its message is
POWERFUL!

Excellent! Thank you!

I love this, the rhyme and repitition. So brillant with all your words and how you put the colors in to show it. I treuly believe in karma and we all get it one time or another but your right we do need to do nice so we don't have anything backfired and plus others have feelings that do not need to be hurt.

I really like this verse t the beginning and the end

Come one, come all, and join the feast
Prepare yourselves for a delectable treat
What you partake in is your predilection
Your smorgasbord is up to your selective discretion

What goes up must come down
What we dish out will come back around

Great use of words.
This is going in my favorites.

I like the repetition in this work. Many wise words here - I truly believe in what you have written here although sometimes I find myself waiting for karma to 'kick in' in certain instances - it always seems to come around tenfold. Thank you - nice write.
Light,
Siddartha
