The Karma Smorgasbord

The Karma Smorgasbord

A Poem by Carole
"

It ALL comes out in the WASH...WE WILL REAP BOUNTIFULLY FROM WHAT WE SOW, be it good or bad. It's not something we like to think about, but it is the unadulterated TRUTH.

             The Karma Smorgasbord

Come one, come all, and join the feast

Prepare yourselves for a delectable treat

What you partake in is your predilection

Your smorgasbord is your selective discretion

What goes up must come down

What we dish out will come back around

It’s all up to us what we will eat

Will it be acidulated or will it be sweet?

I’ve lived long enough to have learned a few ropes

Been on sundry sides of the slope

If you dish out kindness, you procure the same

If you dish out ugliness, make way for the pain

Slander and careless inculpation’s carry a heavy weight

As we do what we wish & follow our fate

Determining this day to whom we will bow

Making a choice and emulating our crowd

A price will be paid for hostile malevolence

While a blessing accompanies those who choose to esteem & respect

A multifarious smorgasbord lavished as we wish

A rancid casserole or a titillating dish

Just taking a synopsis of those who freely accuse

Lofty lovers of gossip, slander, and abuse

The index finger barbed & pointed with pithy insistence undue

Quickly differentiating the guilty from the tried and true

Those that are innocent have nothing to hide

They relax in quietude and calmly abide

Filled with infinite harmony & copious peace

They recline at their spread of an elaborate feast

Of buoyant laughter, joy, and incredulous tranquility

Unruffled & undisturbed with exemplary placidity

Happy-go-lucky and free from guilt and shame

They don’t have to “Do Drama” and play the game

The school of hard knocks is taking applications

We can choose freely our part of the equation

So, let’s get our hammers and delineate palisades

Uncover the charlatan, the fraudulent & the fakes

We can speak what we will and do what we please

Then lift our hands toward heaven and get ready to receive

Our myriad of choices is as diverse as the sea

We each hold the answer-We each hold the key

Come one, come all, and join the feast

Prepare yourselves for a delectable treat

What you partake in is your predilection

Your smorgasbord is your selective discretion

What goes up must come down

What we dish out will come back around

It’s all up to us what we will eat

Will it be acidulated or will it be sweet?

This is a great piece of writing you have here Carole. I personally have a very strong belief on Karma because it's all is in my Dharma! :)
It is written in our religious books that any person's actions do affects hisher next reincarnation, So...I found this piece of writing very true and very much close to my heart as it touches my religious values!

"What goes up must come down
What we dish out will come back around
It's all up to us what we will eat
Will it be acidulated or will it be sweet?" - These four lines for me out stands the entire write, So deep!!

This is really a very powerful piece of writing, your words are so wise and the flow is really awesome too..!
(Also, the formatting and choice of words is brilliant)

Great work Carole! :)

This was the perfect piece to read after the day I've had today my dear and it is oh so true. People always think they can get away with things, but no matter what minor battles they win they will lose the war. Its amazing how many religions, beliefs, and philosophies carry this same truth call it karma, ying yang, reaping what you sow or the threefold curse. What you send out into the universe will come back to you. I had someone lie to the site administrator about me to get me in trouble today and many have contacted me about it to offer support because they know what the truth is and soon more will know as well. Even if I get banned, the truth will remain and those who think they have won will lose. The elements are against them. I don't have to do anything. The more lies the spin, the more injury they curse upon their own head.

As you can see you have definitely inspired me, but that's not new...you always do. Thank you for writing this one. After dealing with what I've dealt with today it feels like this was written just for me.

*hugs*

Carole, you are a master at the use of words. Grasping meanings and weaving them with meter to form a quite edible soup. I also love your use of the multi colored medium and fonts, an artist brushing with pen and ink. I'm not a Karma fan, but these associations are quite natural results and the evidence of the lives we live. "What goes up must come down." The inevitable consequences of life is the responsibility of us who live it.

"Happy-go-lucky and free from guilt and shame
They don't have to "Do Drama" and play the game"

I love these lines, it reminds me of my late father who always said
"Always tell the truth and you won't have to try to remember what you said the last time"
Wonderful inspiring write thank you
You helped me more than you know!!

I'm a big believer in karma - what goes around comes around and all that. It seems however of late, that karma isn't playing by the rules in regards to my life and that just plain ticks me off lol. Perhaps it is that virtue that I admittedly lack causing me grief however, that virtue being patience. Since I've also heard that karma takes its time lol. Whatever the case may be - this is a most enjoyable read - for flow and rhyme - and for content. Maybe I was just a very nasty person in a previous life huh? lol.

Excellent poem. You get a pat on the back from me just for using the word acidulated.

This is an uplifting and entertaining work of art. Colorful , descriptive and imaginative. I am impressed on many levels. You have touched my soul with your wit and wisdom. I am a better man for having read this poem and you are a better person for having shared it.

As you know I posed the question - Where have all the Angels gone - well I now know where at least one is - Thank you for being such an Angel - for your words have inspired and enlightened.

Bless you!

This really is incredible, it's a pity when some must spread gossip bout other without facts and even more crazy that many feed of the tasty morsels laid before them and eat it up like a pack of wild dogs... but yes hat comes around goes around and you feed the wolves long enough you will be eaten yourself... a well writtena nd faced pace look at how gossip travels.
