Sweet Release

Sweet Release

A Poem by Carole

Circumstances

Weighing me

    D

      O

        W

           N

Heaviness

All around

Crying for

Release

Begging for

Retreat

I’ve carried this

Far too long

My strength being sapped

No longer strong

“Lay it down

  Lay it down”

  I hear from within

  Quietly and silently

As the dropping of a pin

I release it gently

To His feet

At last I bask

In joy and in peace

Sweet release…

Wow this piece is amazing I loved the way you used the text to catch our eyes in the first stanza. You really do convey the feeling of elation at letting go.
This is a truly lovely piece and I enjoyed reading it.

James passed this onto me.

I loved how this started out as a cry for help and then became something positive. This was beautifully written. :)

I like the style and the flow. Nothing seems out of place and the image is profound. "At last I bask - In joy and in peace - Sweet release sums up the weigh lifted off your shoulders. Good write Mac

This is my favorite of all your wonderful work! It's a feeling that we all experience, but you have described it with such grace.
hear from within
Quietly and silently
As the dropping of a pin

That gave me chills! Very touching dear friend! I love it!
