The Still Small Voice

The Still Small Voice

A Poem by Carole

Nothing in all of the world has changed my life more radically

than my relationship with

   The Creator of the Universe.

He speaks in so many different ways…

through the scriptures, through other people,

through my Pastor, through circumstances and experiences.

But when He chooses to gift me by speaking to me

in His still small voice, it is then that

All of the world stands STILL

He reaches down into the very depths of my being

  And moves me

  Beyond words

It is in those moments

  That I am changed.

Mere words cannot explain the wonder

I am awe struck

That the Creator of the Universe can speak to all of his children at once if He chooses.

  That’s Omnipresence

That the Omnipotent God that decorated the sky

With the moon, and hung the stars in the sky one by one

  To illuminate the night

And christened the sky with the sun to light the day

Would speak to ME

Who am I

That the Lord of all the earth

Would care to call my name?

As I stretched out in the warmth of my hot tub

Admiring the canopy of stars above me,

I heard His voice

The still small voice of the Lord…

“Do you see the stars,” He asked?

 “Yes, Lord.”

“Do you see all of them?”

“No, the sky is expansive and my vision is limited,” I told Him.

“Since you can’t see ALL of the stars, does it make it any less true that they are ALL there?”

“No Lord.”

“This very same thing applies to what you are believing for.  Though you know it is coming, your perspective is limited and that can make you doubt that it is.  Guard your heart from the seeds of doubt and unbelief that can abort what you are standing in faith for.  Faith is believing without seeing. It is the very substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. That’s what makes it blind faith.”

Once again,

I am honored

By the Still Small Voice that calls my name.

I love the still small voice of the Holy Spirit He is why im still here. This caused me to cry because im currently running towards Jesus and since my Father passed Ive been running from my masters call. I am currently soaking in His Presence in the night seasons and this is healing my broken heart. Im 35 in November Carole and im getting close to the point of Smith Wigglesworth "Ive Died A Thousand Times" maybe it will be 1,001 when im fully concecrated to His Service. Thanks Carole Keep up the fight

Blessings to you and your Family

I believe God touches our lives in many ways. The fact that you have chosen to listen to the voice of God, and take to heart his teachings, is fantastic. ALWAYS follow the ways of his love. It might not always be easy, but it will forever lead you throgh the darkness.
Great write.

Magnificent work, my friend! The message in this work of art is one that has always plagued humanity; doubt. You captured this experience beautifully and I almost felt like God was talking to me, or was He.....

As stated in some of the previous reviews, you locked up this piece with your appreciative line,

"I am honored"

A great writing reminding me of the the vastness and the wholeness that is God.

Thanks for a great piece,

Carole, again you use devices that can go awry and manage to pull out a polished piece.

The end is a bit cumbersome when compared to the thin quick potency of the rest of the poem, you still are able to control the flow of words enough that you don't choke your momentum. I don't expect the big wapping paragraph, it hits almost like a hammer requiring one to move slower over the words and contemplate what is being said. You release the grip back to the well working mechanism of your wispy reflection. I can almost feal the comtemplative water relaxing moments where all these thoughts are just falling effortlessly in place.

Keep shareing.

Personal experience + revelation+ Ms Mc Duffee= good poetry. :)

Well, all I can say is BRAVO! What a powerful message...and it seemed to speak to me, which is another way God speaks to us!

I can't say anything. This touched more than you know. I am amazed not only at this piece, but the timing of it. It is like you put it here just for me.

I just can't say and don't know what to say ... I am touched. You posted it on the 6th it says, and if i would have read it then, it would nopt come close to the meaning it carries right now at this moment.

Thank you for listening to Still Small Voice that calls your name.

Have you ever noticed, in the story of creation (Genesis 1), the narrative descriptively itemises Gods creation of this and that! However, in what could be described as a throw away line, the verse says;

Genesis 1:16 (New International Version)

16 God made two great lightsthe greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

It was a kind of Oh, by the way I threw theses in as well! How awesome and majestic is our Lord, to bless us in this way. In he same way, He blesses us with gifts.

I am pleased to see His gift to you has been shared, for all of us to read. The bonus being, in such a reverently poetic and enduring manner.

Gods Blessing
