Opulent Elegance

Opulent Elegance

A Poem by Carole
"

I wrote this for a contest. We had to describe a picture... :-)

"

A resplendent tapestry embracing the sky

Opulent elegance fashioned for the eye

A heart-shaped cloud bursting with light

A woven wonder and rare delight

Trees nimbly casting shadows on sunlit grass

Beautiful black silhouettes, impeccable class

A dazzling orange flower embellishing our world

Like an oyster shell flaunting her exquisite pearl

A burnt umber sky embroidered with fastidious care

An interlacing of colors exceedingly rare

A carefree day in the hammock under the tropical palm

Bathing in the ocean breeze, a tranquilizing balm

Two dainty angels with wings to take flight

Buoyant dancing and frolicking in the silken sunlight

Eight souls filled with gregarious joy and delight

As they jump for the stars in the evening twilight

This is a great piece and I read the refiews and I am like the other man it is hard to read in the color you chose..I did not see the pictures so I do not know where the last grouping comes in but I love the first three..very elegant use of our language and nicely composed..Valentine

I wanna go wherever this magical and colorful place is! LOL You really did a great job of describing a nirvana to vacation in. Here were my favorite lines:

Trees nimbly casting shadows on sunlit grass
Beautiful black silhouettes, impeccable class
A dazzling orange flower embellishing our world
Like an oyster shell flaunting her exquisite pearl

Thank for sharing.

You're a class act Carole! This is beautiful and complex. For those who don't appreciate what is around them at no cost. It's one of the best pieces I've read. Congrats, I hope you win the contest!.....You should.

I agree with Dawn Olexa, about the stanzas flowing well and the beautiful imagery. Having not seen the pictures, my comments are restricted to the composition.

The wonderful word play and structure carry the piece, which makes it an excellent arrangement.
