Saturday SummerA Poem by Autumn's ChildToday......Small sparkling bubbles laden my drink, ice cubes swimming in a pool of brown as I try to keep the heat outside from rising above the warmth inside from the thought of laying on a sandy beach next to a river watching you emerge from the depths of the unknown and planting a salty meal on my lips, letting the sparkling droplets grace my glistening skin as the warmth finally reaches my head and I am back on my porch watching the world pass by in a swirl of slow motion of hellos and goodbyes and lawnmowers and bikes and cars filled with treasures from another man’s garage and my motives in a fog brought on by small sparkling bubbles and a pool of icy brown mixed with a secret warm liquid I slipped in when no was looking. © 2008 Autumn's Child |
