HeavenA Poem by Autumn's ChildA rare girls night out.It was just the two of us, her innocent face framed by blue, blonde and brown turned upward with a freckled grin, elated to be an only child even if just for an evening. We sang to our favorite song, a melody of highs and lows, humming the words we didn’t know and belting out the ones we did. I took the long way home down the country road, allowing the spell to remain unbroken. The sky was a spattering of clouds that took the remnants of the setting orange sun and turned them into pink, purple, grey. And she turned to me and said that it was times like this that she could see Heaven. In that moment so could I. © 2008 Autumn's ChildReviews
