Yes, you can.

Yes, you can.

A Poem by Autumn's Child

In essence I am living in a

Chasm of God’s playing field,

And it is He who pulls my strings,

Not myself as I would love to believe.

To the naked eye I am but a mere player,

Doting on a power greater than me.

Of course, I fail when I break free,

Trying to hold myself up against gravity.

How foolish am I to think I am strong.

It is still so tempting to rebel against what’s right.

Somehow it’s inevitable that I must cry out for help.

Geez . . . and I thought it was just me who felt this way :) You have portrayed the "tug of war" perfectly in these small amount of words. I get where you are coming from. Sometimes we try so hard to be the masters of our own universe that we forget who really rules.

A thought provoking and very touching write, friend!

Very witty. It has a lovely form and an inspiring message. Thanks for sharing for this. I, however, would like to think that I really can't rebel against Him who is the greatest.

Keep Writing. ^___^

Yesterday is gone, focus on today because
Everything happens for a reason, plus
Strength comes from deep inside and
You should be proud of yourself
Only you can allow negative things
Unless you just give up which I don't think you
Can you have to much going for yourself
And plus so many care for you and yours
Nothing will stop you because, yes you can

Whoa! I missed the acrostic on the first read! Very creative... I like how you express yourself in this piece... a fine portrayal of an internal struggle. In the sequence in which you recommend reading it, per 'Author's Note', it can still be taken 2 different ways. I enjoyed this... very thought provoking. Thanks for sharing! :)

Oh yes. You are so very clever . . . and yeah, you can, but only with Him. I do wish I could tell you of the affinity I share with you . . . the insistance on doing it "my way" [as though I knew better] ~ that if I just closed my eyes, He would not notice my own self-serving decision to stray . . . and how very painful that decision always is.

You are an amazing writer.

We all need help throughout our lives, and yes we can survive and carry on as long as we understand the forces which cause the effects in our lives. A thought provoking acrostic between the title and the body of the poem. Thank you for sharing
