Sanddollars

Sanddollars

A Poem by Autumn's Child

We walked on white sanddollars

Broken into a million tiny pieces

Transformed into sand

That melted into our footprints

Side by side

Following us as we walked

To nowhere

And somewhere

And everywhere

Where the sky was pink and purple

And the wind played lightly with our hair

And your honeysuckle breath

Was still behind the soft kiss

That rested on my lips

Long after your strawberry mouth

Had parted from mine.

OMG. How delightful! Wonderfully delicious, and leaving me with the feeling of wanting to be kissed! I adore this, simply adore it, and I'm capturing it forever in my Favorites. Thank you for sharing this with the world.

Beautiful imagery... this poem engages all of the senses leaving the reader refreshed and ready for a walk along the shore. I grew up on the east coast (new hampshire)... can really appreciate this. Nicely written, thanks for sharing!

Okay, I need to go get me some strawberries now!
Thanks for the walk on your beautiful beach Autumn.
My feet ache from those sand dollars but then,
so does my heart.
