Cat supposed that the only thing she truly felt for him was love. Not like or friendly or anything of the sort, not at that time. Just a silent love. She hoped that her eyes hid the secret, but deep down she knew they failed at this simple task. Like grain in a mill, her hopes ground away to dust.

But like grain painfully crushed, her hopes now found new use. Her wounds could be used as an advantage. Without hope, her attempts to court that forbidden paramour had nothing to lose. She would leave her mark. Tomorrow, her love ceased to be a secret.
