Clouds Chasing Me....A Poem by Greg ZellSuspense/Story
Lately, the clouds arrange and form shapely into proud strange faces with loud voices they greatly berate my minds races and thoughts, they hate me as I pace along, try to trace out a good spot, and avoid connecting the wrong dots. I try to hide in the blind on the underside of a tree but the sky shakes the ground and sends leaves falling laughing at me. I enter a home thinking all alone I’ll find peace, as I reach for the sheets to drone out the suns seeps, I close one window one door but as I do another creeks open some more, I’m exposed again, worse off than before. I run to the church, seeking a nun in the worst, holy water, some words, before my head bursts and ends up in a hearse, curse!, there’s a wedding today, they say come back on the 1st. On the front steps, I ponder what they might want next, expecting maybe the sky’s now blue, but these faces, they didn’t move, they grew, they always knew what to do to keep taking from you. Ringing pain amongst cold stinging rain as I take off like a plane all my might to stay sane. Knock over an old man with a cane in his hand, run right through the line at the newspaper stand, jumping puddles and dodging cars, heart thumping sky rumbling afar, bumping the stars. As out of breath I reach my final destination, with no less patience, the stage is, set like a dinner table, a sinner’s able, sobriety something I cringe to mention, as I walk right in,,,, on my own intervention.
