Mother Nature

Mother Nature

A Poem by Cait
"

AK had just experienced a 7.1ML earthquake near my hometown. It was so powerful that I felt the quake here in Fairbanks.

"

Mother Nature

Nature trembles, an incessant rapping

Here upon Earth’s natural doors

Feel the power, oh, the mighty Mother

What reason are you, Milady, so angry for?

The ground is shifting, my heart a-pounding

Seconds feel like the never ending eternity.

A horrific rumbling and terrific crashing

Dear Mother must you cause such abhor?

Your children love you, though some,

They mistreat you, and it is that I am sorry for;

But I assure you, my dear sweet Mother,

That there are more lovers

In this world that you call yours.

Give your gentry such sweet kindness

We appreciate your elegance and grace.

Oh, mighty Mother, how you enrapture

From dawn to dusk and night to day.

Have you ill feelings toward us, Milady,

For all the sin and unholy deeds?

Is it in your nature, oh dear Mother,

That you forgive the sins we’ve borne?

Mystery tells us that you, Mother,

Know not how to forgive for sin

You are the Mother, keeper of nature

And it’s in your nature that you rap some more.
