true love never dies

true love never dies

A Poem by Carla (trying to make every day count)

Winter snow blowing

Wool coat doesn't stop the cold

Gloved hand rests against the cold marble stone

Shivering, her tears freeze to her face

She lets them stay

Reluctantly she reaches into her coat

pulls out a red rose

places it on the hard ground

Back creaking as her knees rest against the snow.

Head bent in agony

she talks to him.

A sparrow alights on the marble stone.

She looks up and smiles,

he has answered her.

"No matter where you go,

I will find you"

she whispers to the little bird

The bird flies off silent into the cloudy sky.

She smiles and walks away.

He will wait for her.

Very touching and poignant! Just a beautiful testament to ongoing love; few understand it but those who do will smile as they read this.

This is packed with emotion and I love how it unfolds.
It's so true about nature connecting us: "A sparrow alights on the marble stone. She looks up and smiles,
he has answered her."
A beautiful soul lives on forever.
You really wrote this so beautifully and tenderly!
