"Do You Know My Brother"

"Do You Know My Brother"

A Poem by Cbklyn4u
"

Feelings from a sister relaying her feelings about her brother being so far away, and her hearing impaired mother missing him too.

"

"Do You Know my Brother?"

Brother you have no inclenation

As to the love we have for you

I looked up to you with such admiration

Proud of the man who served his nation

Though raised together we were not

I felt a closeness to you

Enjoying every visit that I got

Know that this is definitely true

When you came to live in Brooklyn

finally being a part of the family

I loved every part of having you in my life again

Praying that  you would never leave

But, one day you decided

That you had to up and go

To leave us again, undivided

Silently my heart broke, I know

So now from afar

Without seeing your mother's face

You started anew

in an unfamiliar place

I wish I could be there for you

In all that you do

We had a connection together

Remember some of the times, just a few?

I miss the laughter, the joy

And even the heated discussions

Listening to you babble on

About the Yankees, such a fussin!

So now only your voice

Can I share and hear

But, mom has no choice

She cannot know you're here

No face  can she see

Her baby Boy, so far away

No voice can she hear

For her hearing astrayed

She can only sit around

To hear from her little boy

Looking for mail, words are her sound

To bring her some joy

We miss your presence,

We love you big brother

Know that you're an essence

in our hearts, no other
