City's Awakening

City's Awakening

A Poem by Cbklyn4u
"

In silence I observe the increase of sounds as I lie in my bed. The City is awakening.

"

City’s Awakening

As I awake from my sleep,

My ears hear and they reap.

The city’s  coming alive,

Their only will to survive.

Sounds are blaring,

Intensely, so daring.

Where is the silence that I did know,

That we shared only hours ago?

Choppers hovering, blades fast a turning.

Sirens blaring, rush to what’s burning.

Trucks speeding to deliver their daily goods,

Rushing through the various neighborhoods.

Cars driven, drivers still in their slumber,

Sipping caffeine, yet they still wander.

In need of destination,

They travel the streets.

Sounds pounding, right from under our feet.

The city’s in motion on this new day.

To the lonely, no notion,

All just passes them away
