Ralphy BoyA Poem by Cbklyn4uA voice that I heard so often in my life, listening to the tv or radio, following the Mets game and translating what was being said to my dad... just a lil tribute to a special personRalphy Boy Along with Lindsey and Murphy As I child I listened to your voice When my Dad turned on the TV It was his favorite choice The Mets were his team For his Dodgers were now gone Now for But now the Mets were on Despite his inability to hear The exciting play by plays Dad could still share in the cheer For I translated all the way Mr. Kiner do you really understand The legend that you are You were a part my hand That made dad’s life better by far Your knowledge and expertise In the game that we all crave Will never ever cease In my mind you’ll always be my fav As I listen to you now, remembering all the years In which you showed devotion It brings me to shed a tear How wonderful was your notion To be part of the Mets History The tributes and the trials Sharing in all the mystery That lures us many miles Thanks for the memories Ralphy Boy For the Mets I grew to love It has given me so much joy You are far and above Special in my heart A part of my history Always will you be a part Of the memories within me
