For The Woman You AreA Poem by Cbklyn4uWords to relay my feelings for my daughtersFor The Woman You Are Seems so around the corner, when I held your little finger That wrapped around mine, thought this would linger Then time passed on, a whimsical whirl Before I knew it, no longer my baby girl Through school and all the hard times that we all endured You let nothing stand by your way, nothing to obscure Your determination to move on and do what is right for you You pushed on forward through and through Discovering life, seeing the facades and beauty Believed in yourself, no other person’s duty But to make it your own, take it straight to the heart To be productive and honest was your major part I look at you today and wonder do you really know Do others appreciate you and do they let it show For you extend yourself, to others far and near You’re sweet, strong and fear not shed a tear I am proud of the person that you are, genuine and sweet Never let something or someone allow your defeat Be it known little girl that my baby you’ll always be Though now you’re a powerful woman, now in front of me I see
