The Caliming Whisper

The Caliming Whisper

A Story by thetormented

I was once told by a wonderful person that my voice came from the calming winds of the north. So every night before bed I would pray to the gods that held my soul to the ground only praying that one day they would set me free so everyone could hear this so called calming voice. I wanted nothing more in this world than to be able to make the world a better place for all to see. Now that my spirit has finally been released I float along the waters with the wind soothing the souls on earth. I ponder each and everyday why the man that once told me about my voice and its gift as to why now that I am gone he does no more than weep. I see him staring at a picture and holding it close. I want to be able to tell him to let it go that I am always here doing as I was meant to do soothing the souls of others. Yet now that I am gone he can not hear me anymore. Many years have passed and I walk to the place where I always found him, but this time he was not there. So I searched far and wide until I found him. He was standing alone by the river listening to the sounds of the babbling water. When I reached for his hand I found that I could actually feel his touch. " What is this? Does this mean you are no longer of the living world?" his response was "I came to be with my beloved winds of the north." So now me and my beloved roam the world healing the souls of others with the sound of my voice and the embrace of his touch.
