When the Mountain is to much.

When the Mountain is to much.

A Poem by Kyra Evalice

I set into the sunlight,
just to find myself blinded.
I wander to the darkness,
its so cold and lonely.

The shadows are not my enemy
the light is not my friend.
We find ourselves at an impasse,
mountains made of problems,
hills our solutions.

For every step forward is another two steps back.
Yet we keep going,
some will fall
others will climb.
I've found a perch,
I don't feel the bitter wind in my tiny cave.
I may not have climbed that mountain yet,
but I have not given up.
For now I find myself resting,

waiting for a friend.
Waiting for the day a shadow finds its way
into my tiny cave.
Greets me with a smile,
keeps me warm in the darkness,

A shadow that accepts
my quirks and oddities.
Just as I will accept theirs.

The darkness may be cold,
and the light may be warm.
But both are rather lonely
without a companion on your arm.

When the mountain is to much, find a hill.
