How we change.

How we change.

A Poem by Kyra Evalice
"

How people change, not on the outside but on the inside. Can be oh so drastic.

"
I swim a sea of tears,
looking for dry land.
It seems to never end,
perhaps if I could stop crying.

Though land I find is all to dry,
when the rain doesn't come for days.
I've found the land,
now I live in the desert.

I wonder now as the earth cracks beneath my feet,
was this really what I was searching for?

At sea it was almost always night,
still some days the sun would shine.
In the desert land it is always dusk,
and though I travel with nothing.

I am perfectly content.

Interesting use of technique. I like that after the first line, there is a metaphor to expand the idea and it paints a picture in my mind.

I like that there is an exchange between two differently hit milestones in the human life. The beginning where the human is but a child who can't help but cry through the trials and tribulations it must undertake.

Then, there is the adult who learns to become content, happy and grows up or travels from the child to find joy. Happiness can be taken away, but joy cannot.

This was an interesting read.

God bless
