Rose petals

Rose petals

A Poem by Chaoscaine
"

Written with one in hand.

"

Their hearts are like rose petals

Silk-soft, veined skins

A symbol of desire medals

As tender as its other kin

Scarlet as the blood of innocents

Darkening with age and touch

Curling the longer it has no sense

The separation is a bit too much

Its fragrance fades to nothing

Once plucked from the rose

Gold petals are longer lasting

But worthless- the gold heart froze

This is probably one of my favorite poems I have ever read on here. Great job. Very deep and meaningful.
