My Little Dragon

My Little Dragon

A Story by Chaoscaine
"

The release that an owner always feels, whether is be a parent, a pet-owner, or a dragon-keeper.

"

I lay asleep in fields of gold

Next to me, a dragon, kind and bold

His mind works quicker than mine

But in this wealth, he’s worth a dime

Still, I see the golden heart

Not one spoiled, bitter and tart

My little dragon, your story will be known

And in our world, you aren’t alone

With your words, you have power

And already, over me, you tower

Now your wealth is great and you have so much

And my heart, my mind, both you touch

You gave me a gift, I will never forget

On the very day, my little dragon, we met

You are free, no longer mine

But please, stay for a time

Let me see beyond your shield

To me, please, for me, please yield

Ah, there you are, little dragon, not so little anymore

Now, there it is, open. The faithful door

Take it, go, leave me here, alone

My job is done, I have nothing to atone

So leave me here, I’ll be alright, it is fine

Because now…now is your time

Go! Don’t wait for me…

Thank you…for the thought, for your time

Now, you are worth beyond a dime

Thanks my dear, for wating, showing me the way

But now….but now it’s your day

I’ll always be here, a memory for you

But to me…you’ll always be my little  dragon

This reads more like a poem than a story and I am no good at poems, neither writing or reading them. I do however like the concept hidden behind it. Keep writing.
