The Loner

This is a poem I wrote a few years ago.

That loner no one likes her or sees her,

Everybody talks about her,

She knows what they say,

That girl is me,

People always talk bad about me,

Even when I am there,

They do not think I listen,

But I do,

And I know what they say about me,

Behind my back,

Do not worry about my friends,

They do the same thing,

I know it is horrible,

But I do not care anymore,

What people think of me,

The loner,

They always say things about me,

Either behind my back,

Or to my face,

Which is worse,

Knowing what they say,

Or what they do not say to your face,

Not knowing is worse,

They can leave out all kinds of horrible things,

That is why I act like I do not listen,

So they do not know that I do know what they say,

Even my friends do it,

Either to my face,

Or behind my back,

They say these things because I am,

The Loner.

Author's Note

When I wrote this I was friends with some very terrible people that just brought my mood and self-esteem down, so now we are no longer friends.

I love how this poem comes from the heart! Very good flow, word choice and a very, very accurate representation of what it feels like to be a loner! I know all too well what it feels like to be a loner, I can so relate to this poem! Very good!
