When You Said You Never Loved Me

When You Said You Never Loved Me

A Poem by Cat

It felt like
when you sit on your feet for too long.
The throbbing of thighs
when you try to stand.
The aching of ankles
when you readjust.
The numbness of kneecaps
that you crack
like knuckles.
Your calves
melted to warm liquid.
Your toes
like hot stones.
Your hips
as twisted tree branches.
Limbs mangled, softened
then stiff
like your voice.

oooh harsh...but i have heard words expressed in this tone...very coldly saying "i don't love you anymore"

i really think your analogy is very strong, and sustained well in this.
