Hues

Hues

A Poem by Cat

I remember seeing blue for a really long time.
The blue in your eyes, that indigo deceit.
I remembering thinking how strange it was that something as invasive as the seas could squeeze into your water bottle.

I remember how the veins under my translucent wrist could puncture their teal maze into red by needle.
I remember beginning to hate the skies because on windy days it was a bit more green and I could never understand why it didn't want to always be blue.

And how I would write with only dark blue ink because then my thoughts could be blue too.
How the rain on my window sill didn't make me thirsty but made me miss you.

How I ached to have a baby boy.
How robin's eggs never looked more pure.

I remember it all blue.
But I'll never remember when I started to only breathe gray.

-- stunning poetry, monsieur... -- heartbreaking but absolutely brilliantly written... -- i didn't think a colour could be used in such a creative way to convey the intensity of raw emotions... -- red would've been the predictable choice... but here the unpredictable choice works really well for the piece...
