Phases of Night

Phases of Night

A Poem by Cat

A maroon afternoon.

Agitated by fruitless angst of evening.

Deep into the remembrance of burgundy hearts; lukewarm bath.

A cleansing overflow. Rosy rainwater.

Flowing to a pastel haze of melancholy fingers.

Dimmed under a coral complexion.

Blurred by a vermilion silhouette.

I’d been subdued; to a downy twilight.

Showered in scarlet sympathy.

The faint ripples in her dimples.

Velvet dusk.

love all the uses of purple and red...from passion to love to melancholy...

and in the evening we sleep...and sometimes wake with only a vague memory of love.

nicely done.
