I Can't Swim

I Can't Swim

A Poem by Cat

Each day wakes with white foam as waves break.
And seams tear and floating is no longer an option.

We're encouraged to take swim lessons, wear floaties, fight the current.
But we're left alone.

We're forced to sift through seas as we drown in fear.
We lead a life above water, but dumped into a trench of black infinity.

How are we to establish a synchronization when all we can do is fight to stay afloat?

There's no flawless backstroke, just a butterfly with a broken wing.

This is beautiful. Life explained in different way.
Loved the lines -
"We're forced to sift through seas as we drown in fear.
We lead a life above water, but dumped into a trench of black infinity."

Thank you, it means a lot to me. I appreciate the feedback.
The ocean and life. A wild ride. I love the sea. I suicide boarded three Winter storms in Monterey. Better to be fearless in your life than wishing you were.

Life will force us to react. Sometime a blind journey can lead to a good place. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. I love how you use the words.
