Muse

Muse

A Poem by Firebird
"

My urge to write poems can often become overwhelming when my mental health declines.

"
My muse returns
The firework thoughts
Damped by sweet grassed warm time days
When darkness falls
The lights get louder
Exponential screeching vision
Raining rockets
Make it stop!
My muse returns.

Your lead into this poem also speaks to my poetry writing as well. When I am in the calm stories are much easier to write. But when I start to experience a bout of manic then my mind goes into overdrive pushing me into poetry. For the last week I have been trying to finish up this nice story I'm writing but this sudden strike of angst has hit me and pushed me into writing a couple of poems. I just want to go back to finishing my story but the poetry muse won't have any of it. And I love her too much to say no. Wonderful poem and thank you for sharing your work.

Nothing worse than a manic muse flooding you brain with so many thoughts. Fortunately mine is lazy and frequently takes holidays. I have to say I am thankful.

Glad you write for your own peace. Thank you for reading and for your very kind review.
it is hard enough to deal with mental issues, but when the muse arrives in the flurry, she can add
more chaos to an already churning mind. But sometimes what comes out is genius.

it is like "raining rockets"---

impressive confessional poetry write here.
